Easter Weekend...Better Late Than Never!

Two weeks ago (yikes - I really am late in posting this!) Grady and I went home to Lookout Mountain for Easter.  We were lucky to have Friday off, and to be able to spend a full three day weekend with my parents and friends (we missed Molls and Bo though!).  We had a fun lunch at Taco Mamacita on Friday with Beth and Joseph.  It was great to catch up with them!

We got to do a little Chattanooga exploring after lunch, visiting some shops on North Shore and enjoying the beautiful weather.  On my list of upcoming posts - stay tuned for one about all of my favorite finds in Chatty from this trip home.  Every time I go back I'm amazed at how much it has grown - there are so many fun places to eat, shop, and visit.
While Dad and Grady played golf on Saturday, mom and I did some more shopping and exploring and then the four of us had a fun night of cooking out and then exploring some restaurants downtown.  One I hadn't been to, and one I hadn't taken Grady to but absolutely love.  We had drinks at Alleia...
and drinks and dessert at Easy Bar & Bistro...
(I just had to share some pictures since as a designer, I have a tendency to occasionally choose restaurants based not only on food, but on decor, and I love the interiors of both of these restaurants.  I didn't however take either of these pics, so I can't take credit for them...their original sources are unknown as I just found them in Google Images...just for the record.)

The sermon at church on Easter Sunday was wonderful, and one part in particular has stuck with me.  Joe reminded us that all of our success and failures fall in the shadow of the Cross.  That in all things we should look there, to what Jesus did for us, and let this be the place where we can rest in His strength and grace.  It is how we find hope and gratitude through our failures and humility and gratitude in our successes, and is the reminder that all of these earthly things are nothing compared to what He did for us.  I think this is a reminder I need on a daily basis!

More to come on some of my new favorite Chatt-Town places soon!
